Our Mission
Approach
A firm commitment to a person-centred approach is part of our DNA at Amethyst Healthcare. Our strengths based, positive behavioural support plans are developed by listening to the needs, wishes, preferences and rights of those accessing the service.
Working collaboratively with the service user and their family, our health and social care partners we agree goals and objectives promoting a strengths-based programme of care which has clear measurable outcomes.
. Our approach to care and support is guided by the following four principles:
- Always aiming to do with people rather than to or for people
- Focusing on what people can do rather than what they cannot do
- Supporting people to develop skills to help themselves stay well, and
- Working with the whole person and not just their diagnosis
We believe that enablement is a vital core value in the practice at Amethyst healthcare because it empowers individuals to have control over their lives, take positive risks and embrace a full range of opportunities.
Our specific approach to Enablement perhaps goes further. As well as giving people power over their own care and their own journey, we also want to directly involve them in how services provided by Amethyst healthcare are designed, delivered and evaluated, and to put lived experience at the centre of decision making.
